Voodoo child, the infamous child abuse cult that’s run by notorious pedophile and founder Joseph Vaughn, has filed a lawsuit against Voodoo Temple, the group’s main temple in Texas, alleging that the temple is engaged in “an ongoing and systematic violation of Voodoo’s own child pornography policy.”
The lawsuit alleges that Vaughn, who runs the Vulture Temple in Dallas, is also responsible for “allegedly engaging in a pattern or practice of child sexual abuse.”
The suit seeks unspecified damages.
In a statement, the Temple’s attorney, Mark H. Wylie, said that “Vulture Temple, which is a Christian church and a legitimate, licensed, and recognized charity, has always taken every step in the lawful process to identify and prosecute any potential crimes by Voodoo members, which includes identifying, locating, and pursuing those who are responsible for the criminal acts.”
Wyliie also called on the Temple to “immediately cease all activities involving Voodoo and to immediately end any association with Joseph Vaughn.”
The Temple is not the only group to have filed suit against Vulture, but the lawsuit by Vulture and Vulture’s church comes as the Temple is seeking a $5 million judgment against it for violating a child pornography law.
In the suit, which was filed Monday, the Church claims that Vulture was a “child pornographer” and that Vaughn had used the Temple as his personal vehicle to sexually abuse children.
“While it may be the case that the Temple did not engage in any specific child sexual activity, it has been repeatedly identified by the Temple and its leadership as a member of the Church,” the suit said.
The Temple says it was notified of Vaughn’s sexual conduct in May 2017.
According to the suit: Vaughn told members that he had “a little girl named Voodoo,” who was 14 years old, and that he could “play” with her in the basement of the Temple.
Vaughn and others used the “little girl” as a vehicle to distribute child pornography and solicit sexual acts.
Vaughn’s activities were uncovered in October 2017 when the Temple was contacted by law enforcement.
Vaughn admitted that he “used a little girl” in the Temple basement and that “he had some other things going on with the Temple.”
Voodoo is an occult cult that has operated in the U.S. since the late 1960s.
Vaughn, 76, was convicted of child molestation in 1974, and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Vaughn has been serving a life sentence in Texas’ death row at the Texas State Penitentiary, where he was convicted in 1996.
Vulture has been described by the FBI as the largest child porn ring in the United States.
In 2015, the FBI released the names of 11 people who it said had participated in the Vultures activities.
Vaughn was convicted and is currently serving a sentence of 25 years to life in prison for sexual assault of a child under the age of 12.
