A sequel to the 1997 blockbuster “Dune” has been announced by the makers of “Star Wars.”
The news was first reported by Entertainment Weekly and is confirmed by the studio behind the blockbuster “Star Trek.”
The film, which will be released on December 17, 2019, will star Benicio Del Toro, Lupita Nyong’o, and Anthony Daniels as a group of mercenaries and mercenaries from the Outer Rim.
It will be a standalone story set in the same universe as “Duke Nukem 3D,” but will feature new characters and stories.
It is not clear how many films “DUNE” will include.
“Dunes” was first released in 1998 and had its own spinoff, “Dinotopia,” that starred the likes of Christopher Walken, James Franco, and Sigourney Weaver.
The latter film starred Dwayne Johnson.
Star Wars director Rian Johnson is also producing “Dunkernauts,” which was also based on “Dungeons of the Underdark.”
The studio is making “DUNDLES OF THE UNDERDARK” a spinoff from “DUDE NUKEM 3D.”
