Voodoo, the Jamaican music group that makes Voodoo Mountain Dew, is one of New York’s most important music acts.
But Voodoo is only one of the acts that makes New York a world music destination.
We’re also talking about The Voodoo Village, an island that sits on a volcanic island in the middle of the Bronx, where Voodoo members work together to make Voodoo Island Music, which is the biggest act in the world right now.
The Village has been a success story in the U.S. and internationally.
Voodoo’s biggest hit, “Voodoo Island,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts in 2016.
The Vungle, an epic collaboration between the duo that was produced by producer Chris Wilson, was released on iTunes and Spotify in 2017.
Vungle also made an impact in the Caribbean.
The “Vungle” remix, featuring Pharrell Williams, was the first single from his 2018 album, Voodoo.
In 2018, Vungle announced a three-year partnership with the legendary American artist RZA to create a new line of headphones, the RZA Voodoo headphones.
The RZA headphones will be available exclusively at Voodoo stores.
The new headphones feature new designs and features, including a new ear pad that has been designed to fit your ears better, as well as a new, patented “sleeve” design that makes it possible to wear the headphones while sitting on a chair, according to a Voodoo spokesperson.
The headphones are available now at Vungle stores in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.
Vulture’s Chris Hogg had the chance to visit the Voodoo village and talk with Voodoo member and Voodoo musician Mike McDonough about the music and his upcoming album, “The Vungle.”
The interview has been edited and condensed.
